Compressive strength class
Insert the required strength class from BS EN 206 – 1:2000 Table 8 (e.g. LC 35/38)
Target density / Density class
Insert the required target oven dry density or select a density class from BS EN 206 – 1 Table 9 (e.g. 1750kg/m3 or D1.8
Product reference
Insert the required aggregate size, 0/4mm, 4/8mm or 4/14mm. 4/14mm is the normal coarse aggregate for concrete, however for thin sections 4/8mm may be considered. For a greater reduction in concrete density a lightweight fine aggregate can be used. Select both coarse and fine fraction sizes if this is required.
Fine aggregate
If only lightweight coarse is used a natural fine aggregate will be required
Cement type
Insert the cement type / combination required which should be selected from BS 8500-2:2006 table 1
Admixture type
Generally a water reducing admixture (normal or high range) will be incorporated into the mix. In some instances it may be required to use a viscosity modifying admixture to assist pumping or in Self Compacting Concrete. Other specific admixtures may also be incorporated like polypropylene or structural fibres, pigments etc.
Consistence class
Insert the target consistence value or select the consistence class from BS EN 206 – 1:2000 tables 3 or 6. For skip mix concrete select a slump value or class or for pump mix select a flow value or class
Other requirements
Insert any other specific requirements like minimum cement contents, water cement ratios, exposure classes, pumping requirements, curing requirements.
